Curriculum Planning

A、Curriculum planning meets the teaching goals of the department, the needs of society and industrial development, and the trait of students

According to the educational goals of the department: (1) Teachers -strengthening teachers' ability of academic research and creativity, (2) Students - cultivating multimedia design professionals with international perspective, (3) Curriculums - upgrading specialty features, (4) Application – promotion of academia practice. Due to the complexity of digital content industries, in 2007, we cultivate professions in three major industries based on the structure of teachers and the characteristics of students (design and electronics). The three major industries are Digital Audio and Video Design, Design of Digital Games, and Digital Value-Added Design. Students can choose one from them to confirm to their learning interests.

 

(1)【day school】Department (Four-Year Program)

Curriculum Planning (Course credits based on the academic year)

  • The minimum graduation credits of the department are 128 credits, including 30 credits for compulsory subjects of school, 6 credits for compulsory subjects of the faculty, 44 to 48 credits for professional compulsory subjects, and 48 to 49 credits for elective subjects.
  • Compulsory Subjects of School (29 credits): Physical Education (0 credits), English (10 credits), Chinese (4 credits), General Education Lectures (1 credit), General Education (14 credits), Service-Learning (0 credit)
  • Both military training and nursing courses for elective subjects of school are not included in total graduation credits; the maximum credits of elective subjects for other majors is 12 credits.
  • The process and principle of course selection:

Compulsory Subjects of Faculty (6 credits): English vocabulary (2 credits), information software applications (2 credits), creative thinking and method (2 credits)

  • Course selection process and principles:

Students must take at least 16 credits and no more than 25 credits except seniors.

Seniors must take at least 9 credits and no more than 25 credits

 

Graduation threshold:

  • Graduation Threshold: College Student English Proficiency Test is complied with the standards of school.

  • Graduation threshold of the department: At least one international certificate is required.(ACA、iClone、Autodesk 3ds Max、Mixcraft、Musicmaker...)

  • College Student Basic Information Application: At least one MOS Certificate or Certificate of Information Software Application, Intermediate Level is required.

  • Graduation threshold of the department: Seniors in all day school have to visit public exhibitions recognized.

  • ※ Description of graduation threshold in English (complied with the regulations)

     

  1. The first test of GEPT, Intermediate Level
  2. New TOEIC Test 390 points and above
  3. TOEFL IBT Test 29 points and above or IELTS Test 3 points and above
  4. The same level of any English Proficiency Test

Those who do not qualify the above-mentioned graduation requirements by the end of the first semester in junior, they should pass the "Online English Course" in the second semester.

 

(2【day school】Department (Two-Year Program)

Curriculum Planning (Course credits based on the academic year)

  • The minimum graduation credits of the department are 72 credits, including 9 credits for compulsory subjects of school, 24 credits for professional compulsory subjects of the faculty, and 39 credits for elective subjects.
  • Compulsory Subjects of School (9 credits): Physical Education (0 credit), English (2 credits), Chinese (2 credits), General Education Lectures (1 credit), General Education (4 credits), Service-Learning (0 credit).
  • Both military training and nursing courses for elective subjects of school are not included in total graduation credits; the maximum credits of elective subjects for other majors is 12 credits.

Course selection process and principles:

  • Freshmen of two-year program must take at least 16 credits and no more than 25 credits.

  • Sophomores of two-year program must have at least 9 credits and no more than 25 credits.

Graduation threshold:

  • College Student Basic Information Application: At least one MOS Certificate or Certificate of Information Software Application, Intermediate Level is required.
  • Graduation threshold of the department: At least one international certificate is required.(ACA、iClone、Autodesk 3ds Max、Mixcraft、Musicmaker )
  • Graduation threshold of the department: Seniors in all day school have to visit public exhibitions recognized.

 

(3) [Day school] Master Program

Curriculum planning (Course credits based on the academic year)

  • The minimum graduation credit of Postgraduate students is 3 credits, including 9 credits for professional compulsory subjects
  • Postgraduate Students only can take more than 12 credits each semester after two academic years; however, those who have been approved by the Chairman can take over one to three credits each semester.
  • The credits taken by Postgraduate Students before enrollment in any relevant master's (credit) program within three years can be transferred after being approved by the department affairs council, but it’s limited to 6 credits.

Course selection process and principles:

  • All compulsory subjects are taken in regular classes, but those who extend their studies are not limited.

  • First-Year Postgraduate Students (the first semester of enrollment) are forbidden to take the course (selecting courses for second-year students) unless the Chairman approve it.

Graduation threshold:

Students (excluding in-service Master’s Program and foreign students) should qualify one of the following graduation requirements:

  1. School English Proficiency Test
  2. The GEPT, Intermediate Level
  3. New TOEIC Test 550 points and above
  4. TOEFL IBT Test 57 points and above or IELTS Test 4 points and above
  5. The same level of any English Proficiency Test

(4)【Night School】Department (Four-Year Program)

Curriculum planning (Course credits based on the academic year)

  • The minimum graduation credits of the department are 128 credits, including 25 credits for compulsory subjects of school, 52 to 54 credits for professional compulsory subjects of the faculty, and 49 to 51 credits for elective subjects.
  • Compulsory Subjects of School (25 credits): Physical Education (0 credit), English (8 credits), Chinese (6 credits), General Education Lectures (1 credit), General Education (10 credits).
  • Both military training and nursing courses for elective subjects of school are not included in total graduation credits; the maximum credits of elective subjects for other majors is 12 credits.

Course selection process and principles

  • Students must take at least 16 credits and no more than 25 credits except seniors.
  • Seniors must take at least 9 credits and no more than 25 credits.
