Future Development

Development Vision

Because of the complexity of digital content industries, we have decided to set three development directions as the basis for the features and future plans of the department in order to achieve the goals of talent training and industry-academia cooperation. The three main directions are Digital Audio and Video Design, Design of Digital Games, and Digital Value-Added Design. To reach a new era of digital content, we expect it will be helpful to the development of the digital content industry in Taiwan, even further enhance our international competitiveness due to the professionals we have cultivated.

Our long-term plan is based on teaching expertise, industry demand and students’ future employment for its planning and development. The following is the plan including four aspects: the development of specialty features, the improvement of teaching quality, the care of student growth, and the contribution of social services. There are four parts below to describe in detail:

  1. Specialty Features development

  1.  In order to obtain the opportunities to cooperate with the industries, we strengthen our specialty features through the establishment of various laboratory devices to connect to the industries,

  2. To improve the gap between learning and applying and increase the employment rate, we seek the cooperation of target industrial manufacturers that provide professional teaching, corporate internship, industry-academia cooperation, teachers empowerment to help us connect to corporate internship and employment in the last semester.

  3.  Through implement of the basic curriculums, we improve students’ application ability in professional fields.

  4.  In the 2013, Master Program of “Digital Content Creative Industry” has been established. We intend to transform the master program into a practical program and cooperate with enterprises to cultivate advanced talents in the digital content industry in three years.

  5.  The master program has recruited pre-students and continued the talents trained in the undergraduate department; therefore, after graduation, they can catch up the current trend in one year.

  6.  In 2016, the night school for the two-year program stopped the recruitment; on the other hand, the four-year program started to enroll students in order to increase opportunities of study for local students. In addition, individual enrollment has been adopting.

  7.  Since 2016, the number of enrollment for the four-year program in the night school has increased 45. It is predicted that the number will be expanded and the multiple channels for enrollment will be conducted.

  1. Improvement of Teaching Quality

  1. The measures for encouraging teachers to engage in advanced studies or participate in vocational training to strengthen their teaching abilities.
  2. To much more understand the results of teaching evaluation, we cooperate with schools to implement encouragement measures, incentive effects, and regulations related not only teaching quality, but teaching evaluation which can help to improve the teaching quality. 
  3. To promote our professional and cross-expert cooperation plans, we develop prospective courses, innovative researches, and progressive teaching. First, through the professional course plans, we provide a progressive teaching modality in order to enrich the teaching content and improve the quality of professional courses. Second, through reading clubs, self-learning, and microcredit courses, we promote the interdisciplinary cooperation to make students have the ability of cross-expert thinking.
  4. Strengthening the internship results and subsequent amendments of curriculum design.
  1. Care for Student Growth

  1. We handle various lectures and exhibitions in the hopes that students’ performance can be improved. First, experts and scholars in different fields are invited to give lectures at school to expand students' perspectives and concepts. Second, we have hold exhibitions since 2008 and selected excellent works for students to learn and observe; on the other hand, through the competitiveness of peers, students will become more aggressive. Third, we plan to held cross-school exhibitions to provide a platform for cross-school students not only to show their design innovation, but to stimulate their design potential in a benign competition.
  2. We want to enhance students' design abilities, competitiveness in digital media and their majors; therefore, we encourage students to participate in national and international competitions to build self-confidence, and teachers to guide them to participate in any competition. Moreover, to improve professional ability in design and increase the employment competitiveness, we decide to reward our students who have participated in competitions. In addition, we should assist actively graduates in participating in public exhibitions to have more communication and interaction in their works, so that there will be a great opportunity to promote excellent designers through large-scale design exhibitions for students in Taiwan.
  3. We assist students in participating in license examinations to boost their employability. In 2011, we established "ACA International Certification Center" in cooperation with Zilide Information Technology Company. Through a professional grade certification system, we have promoted multimedia web design and certification exams for application of digital content dissemination. Moreover, we will continue to encourage students to participate in any international certification exams in order to enhance their competitiveness in job market.
  4.  To increase students’ practical training and internships and promote their employability, we encourage teachers to introduce industry-academia cooperation cases in class; therefore, their practical abilities can be connected to the industries because it combines the practical requirements to make students understand their manpower demand and application; on the other hand, it makes school human resource and energy become a strong support for industrial technology research and development . In addition, it makes the industrial demands and experience feedback become the support of teaching.
  1. Feedback of Social Service

  1. In order to provide people with lifelong learning channels, we promote the return education in cooperation with Innovation Incubation Center to held On-the-Job Programs and professional skills certification classes. We provide courses to solve the problem of urban-rural gap for people in the YunJianan region as well.
  2. We encourage our teachers to integrate social practice into curriculums, assisting local communities in providing local innovation services and promoting social services.
  3. We encourage our teachers and students to assist the development of local industries through the industry-academia cooperation cases, SBIR, Ministry of Economic Affairs projects, and the mini-industry-academia projects.
